The effects of foliar zinc application on grain antioxidant traits in some winter durum wheat cultivars at different growth stages

This study was aimed to investigate the grain antioxidant activity (DPPH. and ABTS.+ radical scavenging activities cuprac reducing capacity), contents of total phenolic compounds, flavonoid capacity five winter durum wheat cultivars under foliar application 0.2% zinc (ZnSO4.7H2O) at different growth stages filling (milky or dough ripeness). The carried out in randomized blocks according split plot design with three replications Ç.1252, Eminbey, Kızıltan-91, Meram-2002 Selçuklu-97.In study, it determined that some traits (ABTS.+, content grain) were not statistically between milky ripeness, but one these showed significantly higher values terms compared untreated (control). Also, zinc×cultivar interaction for DPPH. activity, compounds flavonoids significant variations. Within frame results, found had effects on traits; however, subsequent studies, advised would be more beneficial expand by increasing dose number stages.
